We are recruiting to fill the position below:

Job Title: Nutrition Officer

Primary Job Responsibilities
  • Under the leadership of the Nutrition Officer, and with guidance from the Borno Program Manager, the Nutrition Officer is responsible for the implementation of Nutrition Activities in Magumeri and Gubio LGAs, while maintaining relationships with nutrition and medical actors and beneficiaries.
Specific Job Responsibilities
  • Support the coordination and implementation of all assigned project activities as outlined in the detailed implementation plan in line with CRS program quality principles and standards, donor requirements, and good practices.
  • Schedule the daily activities for Nutrition Community Mobilizers regarding screening, referral and follow up of SAM and MAM child under 5 years old.
  • Ensure that Nutrition Data are reliable and correct
  • Implement Infant Young Child Feeding messaging and care group mother model in both LGAs
  • Monitor and report any challenges and/or gaps identified to inform adjustments to plans and implementation schedules. Assist partners in their efforts to reflect on project experiences.
  • Support accountability through coordinating project evaluation activities and assisting partners in their efforts to collect and analyze project data per specified mechanisms and tools. Collaborate with local partner(s) to prepare reports per established reporting schedule.
  • Collect information on staff capacity needs and technical assistance needs of partner organizations and monitor capacity building and technical support activities to ensure effective impact.
  • Complete project documentation for assigned activities. Assist with identifying information for case studies and reports on promising practices.
  • Any other task assigned by supervisor
Qualifications and Skills
  • Bachelor degree in Nutrition, Social Sciences, community development, or any other relevant field
  • At least 2 years’ experience in project implementation preferably with an NGO Experience in the field of Nutrition for an NGO is a must.
  • Demonstrated experience in data collection
  • Ability to speak local languages - Kanuri and Hausa - is a must
  • Experience in participatory action planning and community engagement.
  • Experience monitoring projects and collecting relevant data preferred.
  • Experience using MS Windows and MS Office packages (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
  • Proven experience in group discussions and other participatory methods
  • Demonstrated commitment to gender-responsive programming.
  • Excellent organizational, analytical, oral and written communication skills in English
  • Team-oriented and strong interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure and to organize and prioritize a variety of initiatives
  • Willingness to travel about 70% of the time.
