Oracle has a vacancy for Applications Sales consultant (Pre-Sales Consultant) to work in their Nigerian office.

The main responsibility of the Applications Sales consultant (Pre-Sales Consultant) is to secure Oracle product selection. They assist the Applications Sales Representatives drive the adoption of Oracle application solutions within the Communications, Media, Utilities and Transportation (CMU&T) Vertical industries.

Overview:
- To demonstrate the credibility of Oracle's Applications products and solutions
- To respond to demand from Applications Account Management for expertise in creating detailed technical and product solutions for specified needs
- To work as part of Account Teams on specific opportunities to enhance revenue for Oracle Corporation through Applications licence sales

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Actively maintaining a depth of product knowledge in the designated applications product areas
  • Ensuring the Pre-sales team and specified groups have up-to-date and relevant product knowledge in the designated product areas
  • Maintain awareness of all relevant competitive products
  • Understand the needs and pains of the customer and then to link them to a set of products/solutions provided by Oracle
  • Contributing to the generation and maintenance of relevant product area specific Value Propositions
  • Educating customers and Partner Organisations in Oracle Product offering and Value Propositions in the designated product areas
  • Providing buyable solutions in Sales Campaigns as requested
  • Help pushing Oracle's product offering to the Market
  • Building and maintaining relevant relationships with the customer during the bid process
  • Help the CMU Vertical Customers identify the best Oracle Applications solution for their business
  • Train the sales team on how to offer and present the Oracle Applications solution to their customers
  • Present the Oracle Applications solution to customers
  • Become the internal source for product information for the Oracle sales team
  • Become an expert in a core set of Oracle Application products and solutions
  • Liaise closely with the Application Sales Representatives and their customers and together build an Oracle solution to solve their requirements
  • To supply support or answer questions from the sales team requiring technical knowledge
  • Deliver overviews of a product or a solution from a technical and business point of view Q&A sessions. To obtain the knowledge a sales team needs for a campaign or new release
  • Sales Consultant delivers training on products to support the rollout and marketing of these events
  • Demonstrates the credibility of Oracle's products and solutions
  • Provides product demos and presentations
  • Provides expertise in creating limited technical and product solutions for specified needs where required


QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Degree in Computer Science or BComm. (Information Systems) or Engineering equivalent
  • Good knowledge and understanding of the IT and database market
  • Experience in Finance and the CMU&T Vertical preferable
  • Solution Architect experience preferable
  • 5 or more years experience in an IT role
  • Knowledge of Oracle Financial Applications (GL, Receivables, etc.)
  • Experience of large integrated systems advantageous
  • Previous experience in a support or customer facing role
  • Excellent verbal/written communication skills
  • Ability to work in a pressurised environment
  • Able to travel on a frequent basis
