Adexen Recruitment Agency is mandated by a leading engineering, procurement, production, construction and maintenance company within the Oil & Gas Sector to recruit commissioning manager for its operations in Nigeria.

Responsibilities
  • The commissioning manager will be responsible for the development of effective commissioning and procurement strategies’
  • Provide testing and commissioning focused input to the commissioning planning and work schedule
  • Apply industry best practices to effectively manage process safety risk during commissioning of the project
  • Accountable for the planning and execution of a safe, environmentally sound, and incident free startup
  • Lead and manage the commissioning, startup, performance test, and acceptance program for the Plant.
  • Deliver a high standard commissioning service to the project, ensuring a consistent and efficient approach is implemented at all times.
  • Develop and deliver the commissioning strategy for the field through the execute and construct phases to final testing and handover to operations
  • Third party verification body liaison as required in accordance with verification plan
  • Implement a continuous improvement philosophy, whilst delivering best practices at all times
  • Manage and direct the project commissioning team and personnel in the safe and structured delivery of the project commissioning process and objectives
  • Ensure effective pre and commissioning document management system and process are in place and managed effectively
  • Ensure all commissioning strategies, practices and procedures are in place and agreed with all applicable stakeholders in line with Company Standards and Industry Practices
  • Ensure commissioning personnel are competent and that all necessary training is identified and provided
  • Audit / review of the project commissioning process ensuring where applicable recommendations are implemented
  • Work with the multi-discipline team to ensure commissioning is considered throughout the design phases of the project
  • Own & Deliver commissioning plan and ensure it's interface with the asset plan
  • Manage & deliver hand-over to operations
Requirements
  • Recognised engineering or technical qualification with significant oil or gas plant commissioning operations experience
  • Proven delivery of commissioning management role in similar projects
  • Minimum of 12 years experience with 10 years working on large scale projects
  • Strong networking and communication skills (externally and internally) - ability to build and maintain internal and external relationships in support of commissioning activity
  • Involvement in Conceptual / FEED / Detailed Design/ Operation of facilities
  • Competent in the preparation and delivery of progress reports
  • Proven ability to manage relationships across multiple partners/cultures/locations/disciplines and standards
  • Proven track record of influence, adding value, continuous improvement and safe delivery
