Responsibilities
  • The Assistant Planning Manager will be responsible for project progress monitoring & schedule compliance. He will be in charge of all planning & scheduling of simultaneous multiple projects.
  • This role reports to the Planning Manager
  • Provide necessary advice, support and services to Project Management and Project Team regarding project status, progress monitoring and reporting and forecasting and definition of alternatives
  • Coordination of schedule for all work phases (Engineering / Procurement/ Fabrication / Installation, etc)
  • Ensure all planning system requirements are incorporated into major contracts
  • Direct project planners in consolidation and monitoring of all Contractor and sub-contractor schedules, analyzing progress to detect deviations and alert PMT to issues and potential problem areas
  • Using project planners to monitor Contractors progress reports
  • Direct preparation of contingency plans and associated schedules as necessary
  • Ensure implementation of the agreed Primavera schedule structure for schedule control
  • Implementation of project plan & ensuring logical sequencing of plan based on resources
  • Plan resources, arrangement & allocation of resources as per the project plan
  • Monitor construction schedules & highlight anticipated delays/deviancies in advance
  • Preparation and monitoring of budget
  • Prepare method statement & submit to clients/consultants for approval
Requirements
  • BSc in Engineering related course
  • At least 5 years experience in a similar role
  • Good knowledge of primavera/ MS Project
  • Must be well versed in Primavera & MS Project planning software
  • Should have experience at multi-discipline projects
  • Have excellent communication & negotiation skills at all levels and demonstrate a high level of initiative
  • Strong leadership skills
  • High proficiency in MS Office applications
  • Team oriented and outgoing
  • Ability to make decisions and solve problems
