Modibbo Adama University of Technology, Yola formally known Federal University of Technology, Yola, Adamawa state Nigeria was established in 1981 by the Federal Government of Nigeria to provide the much needed technologically skilled manpower for the nation. It is one of the Federal Universities recognized by National Universities Commission (NUC) to offer Bachelor’s, Master’s and Doctorate degrees in different fields of Science and Technology.
We require the services of an experienced and qualified candidate to fill the position below:
Job Title: University Librarian
Location: Yola, Adamawa
Responsibility
- The University Librarian, a principal officer, is responsible to the Vice Chancellor for the effective management of the University Library, coordination of Library services and resources in the University.
Qualifications
- Candidates for the post of University Librarian must possess a good second class honours and Master’s degrees, and preferably PhD in relevant fields from recognized institutions.
- The candidate must demonstrate academic excellence through quality publications, teaching, research and must be computer proficient. S/he must demonstrate proficiency in the application of new technologies to library operations and services.
- The candidates must have at least fifteen (15) years of post-qualification relevant experience in university library or other higher education institutions.
- The University Librarian must possess demonstrable leadership qualities, be of proven integrity, and be resourceful manager of men and materials.
Conditions of Service
- The conditions of the service and salary are as obtainable in Federal Universities in Nigeria and as may be determined by the Federal Government and Governing Council. The appointment shall be for a single term of five years.
