Governor Udom Emmanuel of Akwa Ibom State has said that he had equipped the Plastic Manufacturing Factory with a 480-tones injection machine capable of blowing large tanks.
Emmanuel at an environment forum in Uyo, said: "The factory will create over 1000 employment opportunities across the value chain for the teeming youths which is in line with my mandate to industrialise Akwa Ibom State. "Our national economy has been ailing and the hope of many had ebbed, but knowing full well that
my people did not give us their mandate to reward them with excuses, we choose to weather the economic storm by rebuilding, recovering and reinventing our dear state.
“This is in fulfillment of the Akwa Ibom Employment and Enterprise Scheme, AKEES, mandate of getting our teeming youths off the street and into gainful employment.”
The governor said that the Metering Solution Company, Toothpick, Pencil and the Syringe Manufacturing Factories, among others, were proofs that his administration was poised to turn around the fortune of the state, from a civil service state to an industrial hub.
