AIDS Prevention Initiative in Nigeria (APIN)  is a non-governmental donor-funded organization dedicated to the prevention, treatment, care and support of diseases of public health importance in Nigeria, including HIV/AIDS, tuberculosis and malaria, among others, Since 2001, we have worked closely with key stakeholders to reduce the burden and mitigate the impact of those diseases through cutting edge, innovative & sustainable approaches.

We are seeking qualified and suitable candidates to assume the vacant position:

Job Title: Program Advisor - Monitoring & Evaluation (Private Sector)


Location: Jos

The job holder will be a member of the Private Sector Team and will assist the Program Officer - Monitoring & Evaluation to support the implementation of monitoring & evaluation (M&E) in all private sector engagement. Copied: www.hotnigerianjobs.com

Job Tasks
  • Assist in setting up M&E systems in the APIN program office and private health facilities
  • Provide technical assistance to supported private health facilities in the collection, analysis, reporting and use of output data for program improvement
  • Collate monthly reports and provide feedbacks on the consistency of data with program design in collaboration with the Private Sector and State Team
  • Support the provision of program output data to the State Team and relevant government agencies through the state Program Officers Monitoring & Evaluation
  • Participate in periodic and donor initiated Data Quality Audits (DQAs) at private health facilities, which are directly engaged by the supported organizations
  • Support the monitoring of progress made in program implemented with the private sector, towards achieving targets in the respective states
  • Work in collaboration with other members of the State Team to ensure that the supported organizations hold regular data review meetings to promote data utilization
  • Assist in the provision of technical support to strengthen the M&E systems of the supported private sector organizations

Minimum Qualifications and Experience
A Health related degree with a minimum of four (4) years’ experience, including at least two (2) years supporting the implementation of M&E systems and executing program evaluation; a degree in Pharmacy is an added advantage.

Technical and Behavioral Competencies
  • Working knowledge of program monitoring & evaluation and program management
  • Good analytical skills and knowledge of statistical methods
  • Knowledge of HIV/AIDS prevention and treatment, including knowledge of current HIV/AIDS guidelines and standards with respect to monitoring & evaluation
  • Ability to organize and coordinate training programmes
  • Report writing and oral/written communication skills
  • Experience working with private health institutions
  • Excellent interpersonal skill
