Job description

Dimensions of The Job
  • Egina is a deep offshore development located in block OML130 in Nigeria operated by TOTAL Upstream Nigeria Limited. The development is located 150 km from the coast in 1550 m water depth and includes a spread moored FPSO of 240 POB, associated offloading calm buoy, 2 productions loops connecting six subsea manifold with 21 production wells and 3 injection lines connecting 23 water injection wells. A 20km gas export line ties in to the Akpo export pipeline to Amenam.
  • The job holder will be representing Commissioning within the Field Operations team for the Egina Development Project.
  • He will supervise all activities related to Commissioning.
  • He will be the focal point within the Project for the entities involved in Commissioning in Headquarters, and other Project Work Packages.
Activities
The job holder will be required to:
  • Act as prime contact for Commissioning and participates in Project committees
  • Co-ordinate commissioning activities with other project entities/existing facilities
  • Define facilities handover procedures to the subsidiary operations team
  • Mobilize a team for commissioning preparation and execution integrating start-up and operations personnel
  • Develop a strategy in order to maximize onshore commissioning and minimize lost time due to interfaces, along with a commissioning sequence
  • Manage the preparation of pre-commissioning/ commissioning procedures and reporting tools (including technical database, planning, punch list control).
  • Manage execution of commissioning to maximize productivity, minimize cost and achieve smooth hand over.
  • Supervise commissioning reporting to ensure that all information is properly recorded, collected and available
  • Supervise the schedule of commissioning in order to reach the planned end date
  • Train and evaluate collaborators of the Commissioning team
  • Ensure proper implementation of all Precomm./Com requirements.
  • Ensure that lists of pre-commissioning and commissioning procedures are fully comprehensive; to implement the proper control of all commissioning procedures issued, including operational test procedures.
  • Review pre-commissioning and commissioning schedules and timelines and ensure that these remain consistent with project milestones and operational constraints.
  • Ensure proper control of the pre-commissioning status and proper handover to commissioning (RFC).
  • To implement the effective supervision and coordination of all commissioning activities.
  • To approve commissioning forms as per the signatory matrix of the project.
  • To ensure the effective handover between project and operations.
Health, Safety And Environment Responsibilities
The job holder will be required to:
  • Ensure that Project HSE policy and objectives are cascaded within Field Operations Team.
  • Ensure implementation of Project HSE Management System with pro-active involvement of Field Operations personnel during the commissioning, Start-up and Operations phases.
  • Promote the "Think Safety First" attitude throughout the Field Operations Team.
  • Ensure Field Operations personnel are included in the Project HSE Training Plan.
  • Ensure that Field Operations Contractors have an HSE Management System that meets TOTAL HSE requirements.
  • Ensure active participation and contribution of the Egina Field Operations team in project Hazid, Hazop, PTR's, SPOT Audits, Risk Studies, RAM etc. and follow up on the implementation of any recommendations in order to guarantee compliance
  • Ensure that Risk Assessments are conducted for Field Operations work activities, and implemented via the use of work permits, and daily Tool box talks.
Requirement
Education:
  • MSC degree in Engineering or relevant discipline
Experience:
  • Minimum of 15 years experience in operational Exploration and Production activities including a minimum of 10 years in commissioning activities at a Senior Level, with proper level of technical understanding of all the disciplines involved (field operations, mechanical, electrical, instrumentation, control systems, etc.)
Experience in:
  • Commissioning activities of offshore oil and gas production, process facilities, utility systems, marine equipment etc.
  • Risk analysis, Safety of persons and facilities
  • Personnel management and evaluation with emphasis on management of multicultural teams.
  • Maintenance methods, Metering, Inspection techniques.
  • Production, oil and gas processes, produced water treatment and disposal.
  • Project Management, Planning and Scheduling.
  • Projects / works, drilling, logistics and Simultaneous Operations.
  • Budget and Cost control management, requests for Proposals, Contracts and Contract management.
  • Regulatory framework of the Group / Countries.
Skills:
  • Fluent in English, with French an added advantage.
  • Ability to work on projects in a complex and multicultural environment.
