Job description

Dimensions of The Job
  • Egina is a deep offshore development located in block OML130 in Nigeria operated by TOTAL Upstream Nigeria Limited. The development is located 150 km from the coast in 1550 m water depth and includes a spread moored FPSO of 240 POB, associated offloading calm buoy, 2 productions loops connecting six subsea manifold with 21 production wells and 3 injection lines connecting 23 water injection wells. A 20km gas export line ties in to the Akpo export pipeline to Amenam.
Activities
The scope of the job comprises the contract management of all EGINA packages which are required to be delivered. Other contracts may also be added to the scope of the job from time to time.

Pre-Contract (From Advance Order up to main Contract Award)
  • Responsible for the contractual and administration aspects of the package call for tender process.
Post-Contract (from contract award to contract closeout)
  • Ensuring the Contracts assigned are executed in accordance with the agreed contractual terms and conditions and that Company interest is protected at all times.
Contracts Database
  • Maintaining a database which tracks existence and the evolution of contracts, change orders, certificates, approvals and the like during the life of the project for the Contracts assigned.
Procurement activities
  • The job holder is responsible for the contractual and administration aspects of the (and any other contracts that may be directly assigned) call for tender for the procurement of goods. In doing this, the job holder will be required to:
  • Review and challenge where appropriate the requisitions raised by the internal clients
  • Propose, pre-qualify and recommend suitable suppliers for bid lists to maximise tendering efficiency using the Nipex tool where applicable.
  • Draft appropriate contractual and commercial terms and conditions to best serve and protect the Project's interests
  • Prepare the Call for Tender documentation in line with the Project and Company procedures;
  • Administer the tendering process to ensure the "due process" is respected and timely progress is achieved, including preparation and issuance of communication documentation with Tenderers, organisation of tender clarification meetings, organisation of tender correspondence and filing, etc
  • Liaise with the relevant Engineer in Charge on technical issues to ensure that these are adequately incorporated into the tender process;
  • Evaluate contractual and commercial proposals and assist in evaluation of technical proposals where applicable;
  • Assist in the preparation of the Technical Recommendation Report and the Recommendation to Award;
  • Prepare final purchase order documents and obtain signatures for execution of the contract;
  • Expedite the delivery of the goods ordered.
  • Involve in the preparation, negotiation and administration of a broad range of complex technical high value/risk contracts/purchases with the attendant knowledge and experience of commercial, insurance and legal issues.

Requirements

Education:
  • Chartered Engineer with knowledge and experience of commercial, insurance & legal issues.
Experience:
  • In-depth contracts expertise (10 to 15 years minimum) in Exploration & Production environment and experience of offshore projects.
  • Good all-round knowledge of petroleum industry equipment, specifications, manufacture, operation and certification requirements.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of the legal aspects associated with procurement.
  • Comprehensive understanding and working appreciation of the main supply chain issues including the application and optimisation of an integrated business system (SAP).
  • Good knowledge of freight forwarding activities and relevant procedure including those for import/export and customs regulations.
  • Good knowledge of stock management.
Skills:
  • Good team spirit and open communication skills.
  • Well organized, diligent and proactive.
  • Fluent in English.
