Job description
Egina is a deep offshore development located in block OML130 in Nigeria operated by TOTAL Upstream Nigeria Limited. The development is located 150 km from the coast in 1550 m water depth and includes a spread moored FPSO of 240 POB, associated offloading calm buoy, 2 productions loops connecting six subsea manifold with 21 production wells and 3 injection lines connecting 23 water injection wells. A 20km gas export line ties in to the Akpo export pipeline to Amenam.

Responsibilities
  • Follow-up of activities across all phases of the project: detailed engineering, construction engineering, procurement, fabrication and integration, commissioning and start-up.
  • At engineering stage, liaise with Detail Engineering teams, ensure compliance with Project Specifications (Design dossier, GS, applicable codes?). Ensure timely issuance and approval of detail design documentation as well as clarifications. Ensure correct interfacing with ICSS package, other areas including Hull other areas to ensure continuity of design throughout the FPSO, Participate in 3D model reviews for his area and ensure all construction safety, integration, operation, handling and maintenance constraints are taken into account in final design. Ensure as far as possible standardization of equipments throughout his area and across packages.
  • Monitor procurement progress for major equipment packages in this area and lead receiving inspections upon delivery at integration yards. Work with process and package engineers for the follow up process tank internals package evolution, coordinate responses to vendor technical queries/ clarifications, organize delivery and integration of equipment packages into the modules (and hull for process tanks).
  • Ensure FATs are properly carried out and vendor documentation is well submitted.
  • Liaise with Company Site Reps on Nigerian yards for the construction and integration activities. Provide technical clarifications to construction teams to aid module erection & integration activities.
  • Participate in the development of Pre-commissioning, Commissioning and Start-Up requirements and provide technical support as per request of FOPS Team.
  • Review change order requests, prepare justifications and raise associated change order dossiers for Topsides Manager review.
  • Liaise constantly with other area engineers (including hull area), to ensure continuity of project execution throughout the FPSO.
  • Report to the Topsides Manager on progress of activities in his areas and issues of concern. Propose and enforce remedial actions when anticipating or facing delays.
  • Support and enforce the HSEQ Project objectives and directives, propose and enforce remedial actions when needed. Ensure all non-conformities in his areas are populated into punch lists and ensure continuous and efficient clearing of punch list items.
  • Deputizing for the UFR Technical Manager as required.
  • Demonstrate leadership for implementation of Company requirements on technological risks management.
  • Ensure that all recommendations from safety studies and technical reviews are fully addressed in design phase.
  • Ensure necessary resources are available for preparation of information's needed to issue safety and environmental dossiers.
  • Ensure that all safety and environmental required studies will be reviewed/ updated and that final design will comply will ALARP policy.
  • Ensure that design will comply with all HSE requirements and that Safety and Environment dossiers will be provided to National Authorities in due time.
Requirements
  • Degree in Process engineering, Mechanical engineering or in a relevant engineering discipline MANDATORY with MSc or equivalent that relates to industry at large and preferably to Petroleum industry activities (such as Mechanical Engineering, Wells & Drilling Engineering, Controls, Ocean & Subsea Engineering, preferred);
  • Ideally the candidate will be also a chartered Engineer (such as CEng, MICE)
  • Minimum of 10 years experience in operational Exploration and Production activities linked to Deepwater technology and Subsea Production Systems.
  • Works with responsibilities including medium to large size team management, engineering experience for large size EPCI-C projects with some years of experience as Project Engineer
  • Good motivational skills. Sound organisation ability and respect for planning and budgets. Good knowledge of international design codes / standards and general specifications
  • Good knowledge in pipelines, risers, structural, hydrodynamics and flow-assurance
  • Good knowledge in material, corrosion, coatings
  • Good sense of organization, ability to prioritize activities, to identify critical aspects, to propose way forwards, to lead specialists or third parties, to summarize and present complex design issues including transverse and interfaces matters
  • Fluent in English both verbally and in writing
  • Ability to works in a multicultural environment
  • Familiar with industry codes and standards especially in relation to process and safety.
  • Language: Fluent English.
  • Ability to travel worldwide on a short notice for missions
  • Excellent team spirit, leadership and communication skills
