Job Description
Dimensions of The Job
- Egina is a deep offshore development located in block OML130 in Nigeria operated by TOTAL Upstream Nigeria Limited. The development is located 150 km from the coast in 1550 m water depth and includes a spread moored FPSO of 240 POB, associated offloading calm buoy, 2 productions loops connecting six subsea manifold with 21 production wells and 3 injection lines connecting 23 water injection wells. A 20km gas export line ties in to the Akpo export pipeline to Amenam.
Activities
The job holder will be required to:
- Manage a team of specialists, follow up engineering activities for FPSO topsides.
- Follow day-to-day progress of FPSO topsides detailed engineering activities.
- Liaise with FPSO Hull team for ensuring continuity between Hull and Topsides design
- Ensure that detailed engineering deliverables are issued on time and in consistency with overall Project schedule.
- In conjunction with Topsides and Hull Managers, generate a review matrix (approver; leader and reviewers) for all documentations in the project MDR.
- Ensure that detailed engineering documentation and requisitions for procurement is compliant with SOR, etc.
- Monitor progress of procurement schedule of major equipment packages.
- Organize and control the regular checking of the quality of the deliverables (all disciplines).
- Organize and control the inter-discipline coordination and the coordination with other Project entities when applicable.
- Approve the scope of work and coordinate planning for specific detailed design and safety studies
- Coordinate and issue project response dossier to EPC contractor and Vendors request on detailed engineering design clarifications,
- Prepare project engineering presentations and respond to engineering design clarification requests from Nigerian authorities (DPR; etc) as per need.
- Ensure timely completion of detailed design dossier to enable early release of design documentation at AFC revisions.
- Issue in good time procedure for control of design change requests to limit/ control unnecessary design change requests late into the life of the project.
- Ensure that technical decisions have no impact on quality, cost or schedule (or to report to management prior to decision), and to take part in technical evaluation of change orders.
- Liaise regularly with Company specialists for overall status review (all disciplines) and for specific expertise when required.
- Liaise with Field Operations team to ensure the operability of the FPSO design.
- Closely monitor the weight evolution of topsides modules through regular update of the weight report, guaranty protection of company contingencies and keep weight increases within approved limits.
- Ensure that the design is consistent with construction and integration strategy, especially considering construction and integration in Nigeria.
- Ensure as far as possible standardization of equipments throughout Topsides
- Ensure that all safety and environmental required studies will be reviewed/updated and that final design will comply with ALARP policy.
- Ensure that design will comply with all HSE requirements and that Safety and Environment dossiers will be provided to National Authorities in due time.
Requirements
Education:
- Degree in relevant Engineering discipline.
Experience:
- Professional Expertise in Process Engineering major with over 15 years of relevant experience in Exploration & Production in major Engineering Offshore Oil and Gas Projects.
- Proved aptitude to operational management and ability to effectively coordinate engineering construction discipline leads.
Skills:
- Ability to effectively coordinate engineering discipline leads and work as part of a team
- Language: Fluent English.
