Job Description
- We are seeking to fill the position of a Plant Manager who would oversee all daily operations of the plant from production and manufacturing to ensuring policies and procedures are followed.
- He/ She would be responsible for developing processes that will maximize stewardship, safety, quality and productivity.
Responsibilities
- Plan, organize, direct and run optimum day-to-day operations to exceed our customers’ expectations
- Increase production, assets capacity and flexibility while minimizing unnecessary costs and maintaining current quality standards
- Be responsible for production output, product quality and on-time shipping
- Allocate resources effectively and fully utilize assets to produce optimal results
- Implement strategies in alignment with strategic initiatives and provide a clear sense of direction and focus
- Monitor operations and trigger corrective actions
- Share a trusting relationship with workgroup and recruit, manage and develop plant staff
- Collect and analyze data to find places of waste or overtime
- Commit to plant safety procedures and maintain a safe work environment, following all safety regulation
- Ensure all compliance needs are met
- Oversee all shipments, incoming inventory, and storage operations
- Ensure all legal requirements, company safety procedures, and local and state health and safety regulations are met
- Develop systems and processes that track and optimize productivity and standards, metrics and performance targets to ensure effective return on assets
- Address employees’ issues or grievances and administer collective bargaining agreements
- Influence and learn from below
- Stay up to date with latest production management best practices and concepts.
Requirements and Qualifications
- 1-3 years previous experience as a plant manager, supervisor, or related position
- A Bachelor's Degree in Business Management or related field preferred; Master’s in Business Administration or Management a plus
- Strong knowledge of local, state, and federal health and safety regulations
- Proficient computer skills, including Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Excel)
- Strong management skills with ability to supervise multiple teams
- Strict adherence to company standards and safety procedures
- Able to multitask, prioritize, and manage time efficiently
- Excellent leadership, team building, and management skills
- Encouraging to team and staff; able to mentor and lead
- Able to physically stand, bend, squat, and lift up to 30 pounds
- Good interpersonal skills and communication with all levels of management
- In-depth knowledge of industry and its place on the market
- Able to analyze problems and strategize for better solutions
- Excellent conflict-resolution and decision-making abilities
