Position Description
- We are looking for Maintenance Superintendent (Planning/Central Maintenance/Workshop/Rotating Equipment) Candidates for Refinery.
- It is essential that the candidate should have relevant Refinery, experience/Petrochemical Plants experience, to build the World's largest single stream train Greenfield refinery and Petrochemical complex site based candidates for Nigeria, Lagos.
Job Responsibilities
- Plans turn-around for various units and facilities based on Refinery operating strategy and Inspection requirements.
- Coordinates with Contracts Department for award of contracts for execution of shut down jobs.
- Ensures that the entire scope of work is executed through concerned agencies within the approved cost and down time.
- Ensures change management procedures are followed where there are deviations in the scope of work or cost or time.
- Establishes workshop with necessary equipment, machinery and facilities required to carry out shop maintenance jobs and maintain the facilities.
- Handles maintenance jobs which need to be done in the Workshop like fabrication of piping and equipment / re-tubing of heat exchanger tube bundles, testing of safety valves, machining of pump parts, winding of motors, etc.
- Facilitates the routine maintenance and shut down jobs by providing cranes / hydras / fork lifts etc., to the departments.
- Provides support to condition monitoring of rotary equipment and predictive maintenance, electrical testing etc.
Initial Project Activities
Oversees and participates in:
- Provision of input to engineering from Maintenance and TAR perspective on start-up/shutdown systems, isolation, bypasses, drains, safety, etc.
- Participation in design and set up of Maintenance shop, determination of required scope in view of contracted external maintenance shop provision, e.g. from GE
- Management of technical assistance from major equipment vendors for startup and initial operation
- Preparation of detailed Maintenance manuals and procedures
- Preparation of training program for Maintenance f. Selection and formulation of Maintenance System, including Control of Work
- Recruitment of Maintenance core team.
Desired Qualification/Preferred Competencies
- BS or MS Degree in Engineering (Mechanical)
- Minimum 15 years' experience in refinery maintenance, 5 years' maintenance senior management experience in a major refinery.
- Specific experience with planning TARs, Shop supervision and rotating equipment maintenance.
- Demonstrated expertise with modern maintenance planning and control systems.
- Excellent communication and leadership qualities.
- Track record of commitment to safety and the development of his team.
