Job Title: Distribution Officer
Location: Monguno, Borno
Job Summary
- The position is based in Monguno, Borno State and reports directly to the Sector Manager - FSL.
- The Distribution Officer is required to play a key role in implementing the General Food Distribution and other FSL related activities at all stages of the Food For Peace (FFP) project.
Tasks and Responsibilities
- Responsible for successful planning, coordination and implementation of program activities including community outreach activities and General Food Distributions.
- Identify program implementation modalities that enhances partnership and coordination with Government officials and local communities and internal integration within Sectors and other Programs (Nutrition, WASH and BSFP).
- Support Sector Manager - FSL and the Program Manager in ensuring program quality and adherence to program objectives, including respect of AAH technical guidelines, systems, and established deadlines.
- To assist Sector Manager - FSL for the implementation of capacity building activities through On Job Training (OJT), mentoring and coaching for Field Distribution Assistants.
- Conduct community meetings to sensitize communities about Action Against Hunger program and beneficiary entitlements and conduct of Focus Group Discussion.
- Facilitate and Coordinate activities within AAH and between Partners in project areas.
- Undertake targeting, selection and registration of would be beneficiaries.
- Assist Sector Manager and monitor the general running of the FSL activities within the scope of the project area.
- To ensure adequate reporting and documentation of all FSL related Activities.
- Ensure the proper HR management of the Field Based Distribution Team
Position Requirements
- Minimum of a Degree/HND in a food security related field e.g. Agronomics, Agriculture, Development Studies etc.
- Minimum of two (2) years relevant work experience with food security and livelihoods programming and managing of General Food Distributions.
- Excellent use of Microsoft Office Skills (Outlook, Excel, Power Point, Word).
- Fluency in Hausa and English.
- Previous donor programming experience (e.g. USAID, ECHO, DFID, CIDA) is preferred.
- Must have capacity to supervise a team.
