Oxfam In Nigeria is upscaling its support to building a social and sustainable small and medium business sector by developing and providing three interlinked services: investment, business incubation and impact measurement. A two year pilot will be carried out by the Oxfam in Nigeria Impact Investment facility, for which we are currently recruiting the:

Job Title: Business Accelerator Advisor


Location: Abuja
Full time position (40 hours), based in Abuja

The main tasks:
  • Develops and manages the incubation strategy, plan and budget for the country office, including incubation guidelines/procedures for partner selection (in close coordination with colleagues in other countries & The Hague).
  • Develops and implements an outreach strategy and plan to potential social entrepreneurs
  • Selects incubation partners, negotiates favourable contract terms, and manages partnerships resulting in a pipeline of investible social enterprises which cautious investors will be willing to back
  • Builds a network among potential social business leads (in and outside of Oxfam’s existing partner network), incubation organisations, local investment funds and institutional donors.
  • Raises funds (in coordination with the Institutional Funding Officer in country and the Funding team in The Netherlands) for incubation activities
  • Documents and shares good and innovative incubation practices with ON Impact Investment colleagues and the country team and feeds into mid-term and end evaluations. Copied: www.hotnigerianjobs.com
Requirements:
  • An University degree in Economics or finance, preferably a MBA in Business Development or CFA
  • A minimum of five years experience in consulting services to social enterprises, leading market studies, developing business plans, providing/overseeing training and support programmes and/or leading a social enterprise successfully.
  • Proven project/budget management experience, including monitoring
  • Awareness of the legal and operating environment for small and medium enterprises in Nigeria and West Africa.
  • Experience in building the capacity of others
  • A clear commitment to Oxfam Novib’s mission for a just world without poverty

SALARY:
LEVEL: National D1: Min N3, 151,105 – Max N 4,234,542 Per Annum
