SuNMaP is DFID-funded seven year programme (2008 -2015) to support the National Malaria Control Programme. It currently operates in ten states, namely; Awka, Enugu, Jigawa, Kaduna, Kano, Katsina, Lagos, Niger, Ogun and Yobe with headquarters in Abuja. The project is managed by a consortium of three international organizations, namely: Malaria Consortium UK, Health Partners International and GRID Consulting Nigeria.

The objective of SuNMaP is to strengthen the delivery of the Nigeria's National Malaria control effort by providing technical support to improve the capacity of the National Malaria Control programme (NMCP) at all levels. In doing this, the programme is working with stakeholders in the health sector public and private; as well as civil societies and partners from the commercial sector.

We are recruiting to fill the position below:

Job Title: Northern/Southern Regional Manager

Location:
Kano / Lagos

Job Description
  • The Regional Managers in each region will assist the Programme Director to coordinate all programme activities in the supported States as well as manage the state teams, establish and maintain effective relationships toward ensuring an efficient programme management within the region.
  • The Northern Regional Manager will be based in the Kano office and will oversee all activities of the Technical Malaria Manager, Operational and Financial support Staff in Kano, Katsina, Kaduna, Jigawa and Yobe States.
  • The Southern Regional Manager on the other-hand, will be based in Lagos office and will oversee all activities of officers in; Lagos, Ogun, Enugu, Anambra and Niger States.
Key Responsibilities
  • Ensuring the achievement of key programme outputs by managing and mentoring the state teams to deliver their state based work-plans;
  • Liaise closely and create synergies with key Government stakeholders; RBM Partners and other DFID health programmes within the region;
  • Ensuring all local procurements and arrangements are in line with the Programme accounting and operational requirements;
  • Oversee the regional review and submission of quarterly programme progress and performance reports in line Donor/Government schedules;
  • Managing the synchronization of Malaria plans to ensure effective communication with stakeholders at all levels.
Qualifications
  • An experienced Health professional with a Master's degree in international or public health, with at least 10-years post-qualification experience in the public health sector and in an African country;
  • Proven technical skills in malaria and malaria case management;
  • Managing the synchronization of Malaria plans to ensure effective communication with stakeholders at all levels;
  • A minimum of 5-years' experience in Health service particularly Primary health care in Nigeria;
  • S/he must have excellent communication and project management skills and prior experience in the knowledge of Public health, policy development and health systems reforms are essential for this position.
