Job Description
- Supervise work procedures, method statements, time estimates, material and equipment lists and interfaces on site
- Manage HSE Systems of work on site
- Responsibility for all Process Safety issues on site
- Oversee the HSE project plans and company procedures
- Conduct HSE reviews, audits and inspections
- Conduct Safety studies and risk assessments both qualitative and quantitative
- Carry our incident investigations
- Develop induction and site HSE training program
- Reinforce Safe behaviors of work and correct unsafe behaviors
- Chair Weekly and Monthly HSE meetings and communicate to management
Expectations
- Engineering Degree from an accredited university
- Minimum 10 years relevant experience in the construction industry preferably in a similar position
- Experience of large civil construction projects
- Fully conversant with international health, safety & environmental codes, standards, recommended practices and regulations and their application to similar projects
- Additionally, experience of developing safe behaviors of work and communicating at all levels of management is essential
- Excellent in problem solving, analytical skills
- Ability to work in multicultural environment and under pressure
- Previous experience in Nigeria or West Africa will be a plus
