Job Description
- The Communications Volunteer will support the communications team across a variety of areas of communications including digital, social media design and content.
Job Responsibilities
- Working as part of our communications team and supporting staffs in delivering communications.
- Support the communications team with materials for our social media platforms and assist with updating information.
- Assist in monitoring social media activities and expand online network.
- Helping to generate content for SHIFT Nigeria social media channels.
- Supporting campaigns, marketing, events and fundraising activities.
- Assist in compiling and editing e-newsletters.
Job Requirements
- Interest in the field of communications and knowledge of different communications channels.
- Familiarity with and enthusiasm for using digital communications platforms in a professional manner, and confidence handling digital files.
- Experience of working or volunteering in communications or administration position.
- Interest in working in a not-for-profit environment
- Interest in politics and current affairs.
Skills:
- Excellent verbal and written English, with strong interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work as part of a team as well as independently.
- Computer literate with the ability to learn different digital tools and platforms.
- Strong organisational skills including developing and maintaining administrative systems.
- Ability to meet deadlines, problem-solve, prioritize tasks and work well under pressure.
- Accuracy and attention to detail.
