Job Title: Project Research Officer

Job Profile
  • Provide support in coordinating project activities and periodic data reviews.
Job-role
The successful candidate will perform the following functions:
  • Provide effective project management support and coordination by planning, design, implementation, monitoring, evaluation and reporting of assigned activities.
  • Provide support to the field offices and periodic reviews of project activities.
  • Manage the collection and processing of field data and ensure all components of the survey completed including specimen samples.
  • Oversee the allocation and use of project resources and manage the local staff to ensure cost-effectiveness and maximum resource utilisation.
  • Prepare and present technical reports to the Project Director and research managers on a regular basis.
  • Assists in the publication of the progress reports and develop research proposals.
  • Adhere to confidentiality with all procedures and policies when collecting, storing, and sharing data.
Qualifications/Experience
  • Must possess a first degree in any social sciences/ health sciences field of study and a Postgraduate degree is an added advantage.
  • Must possess a minimum of four (4) years post NYSC experience in research or monitoring and evaluation with experience in longitudinal survey.
  • Must possess at least three years of hands on work experience in research, monitoring and evaluation with experience working as part of the core research team of a research study.
  • Must be experienced with database management and table technology for data collection and monitoring purposes.
  • Must be computer proficient, including Microsoft Word and Excel applications and knowledge of ERP applications.
  • Must have experience in managing other research/monitoring and evaluation officers at a supervisory level.
Skills and Competency required:
  • Excellent knowledge of qualitative and quantitative research methods.
  • Ability to use word processing, spreadsheet and presentation software.
  • Ability to analyse, resolve research issues promptly and accurately.
  • Ability to present research findings to management in an appropriate manner.
  • Ability to prepare project budgets, schedule, and monitor the control of expenses within allotted budget.
  • Must possess integrity, good oral communication; good interpersonal relational skill,
  • Ability to work under pressure and must be result oriented.
