Adexen Recruitment Agency is mandated by a Law firm to recruit an Associate Counsel specifically for its Litigation services unit and support of its operations in Nigeria.

Responsibilities
- Active litigation and initiation of processes in the High Court
- Making and arguing litigation applications in the High Court among others
- Filing of all court processes to the relevant court
- Carrying out due diligence and company secretarial services
- Participate in drafting legal documents and analyses
- Assist in drafting and compiling litigation trial bundles
- Carrying out practical research relevant to the matters at hand
- Initiation and active participation in negotiations and out of court settlement on behalf of client
- Attended court, taking notes of proceedings and writing accurate reports
- Statutory, regulatory and compliance issues
- Perform general litigation tasks as may be assigned by superior.
Requirements
- Minimum of a Second class Upper LL.B degree from a reputable university and BL from Law School
- A Masters degree in Law would be an added advantage
- 2-5 years experience in a similar role (5 - 8 years experience for senior Associate levels)
- Sound knowledge of litigation laws
- Have excellent negotiation skills at all levels and demonstrate a high level of initiative
- Excellent research & Communication Skills
- Experience of contract management
- Sound knowledge of finance transactions, oil & gas sector, regulatory and compliance laws e.t.c.
- High proficiency in MS Office applications
- Team oriented and outgoing with a pleasing personality
- Should be Self-motivated
