IITA is an international non-profit agricultural research-for-development (R4D) organization established in 1967, governed by a Board of Trustees, and a member of the CGIAR Consortium. The International Institute of Tropical Agriculture seeks suitable Nigerian Nationals for the position of
Laboratory Attendant II (in vitro bank) at the Institute’s Headquarters, Ibadan.
Job Title: Laboratory Attendant II (
in vitro bank) - 2 year renewable contract
Location: Ibadan, Oyo State
Position/Responsibilities:
Successful candidate will among other things perform the following duties:
- Conservation of yam and cassava breeders’ lines
- Processing of yam and cassava breeders’ lines
- In vitro plant tissue culture processing of all RTB, IITA mandate crops including sorting of necrosis and contaminations
- Assist in packing of in vitro plants for safe duplication
- Assist in preparation of plant culture media
- Breeders’ lines data entry
Qualification, Experience and Skills:
- WAEC O level certificate or Senior School certificate (SSCE)
- 3 years relevant working experience with plant tissue culture.
