The International Institute of Tropical Agriculture seeks suitable Nigerian Nationals for the position of
Fieldworker II Seedbank at the Institute’s Headquarters, Ibadan.
Job Title: Fieldworker II Seedbank (2 positions) - 2 year renewable contract
Location: Ibadan
Position/Responsibilities:
Successful candidate will among other things perform the following duties:
- Field and screen house assistant on Planting for regeneration, herbicide and insecticide application.
- Data collection and entry for screen house and field regeneration and multiplication activities.
- Characterization of maize and miscellaneous legumes.
- Maize pollination and Characterization.
- Perform any other duty assigned by the supervisor.
Qualification, Experience and Skills:
- Senior School certificate (SSCE) with at least 2 years experience in screen house management data collection and Gene banking.
The ideal candidate must
- Be honest and hardworking.
- Be a good team player and be able to follow instructions;
- Have adequate knowledge about the maintenance culture of maize genetic resources field bank.
- Be energetic and able to work under pressure
