Save the Children is looking for experienced development professionals to work within the Nigeria Country Programme. These roles will be critical for the delivery of results for children expected by this programme

Job Title: Neonatal and Child Health Specialist

Location:
Kano

Responsibilities
  • The Neonatal and Child Health Specialist will provide technical support, advice and coordination to the programme in the states. S/he will lead technical efforts related to neonatal and child health.
  • Support the MNCH Programme Officers in the states and state teams in capacity building and systems strengthening for IMCI, ICCM, ENC, and KMC in PHC facilities and the communities
  • The Neonatal and Child Health Specialist will ensure that international & national best practices and knowledge are brought into the programme.
Requirements
  • A Post-graduate qualification in Public Health or Paediatrics, or a closely related field
  • A Public Health degree will be an added advantage
  • At least 7 years of relevant experience in Medicine or Nursing/Midwifery and participation in public health programmes in Nigeria, particularly in Maternal, Newborn and Child Health (MNCH);
  • Proven knowledge of current evidence based effective care in newborn & child health; ICCM, MCI, CBSD, ENC, KMC
  • Experience of working with non-governmental organisations or multilateral & bilateral organizations.
  • The successful candidate should have excellent Technical & Advisory Support as well as Programme Management skills
  • Good experience in Planning & budgeting is inclusive.
