The International Vocational, Technical and Entrepreneurship College (IVTEC) is a charitable educational institution with a vision to promote inclusive human capital development within the context of evolving national (Nigerian) needs and global competitiveness. IVTEC is a pioneering technical and vocational education model initiated by the Kwara State Government (KWSG). The College was commissioned by Vice President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Professor Yemi Osinbajo on November 21st, 2017, and commenced training programmes on April 30, 2018. Having recently successfully completed the approval/resource inspection exercise by the National Board for Technical Education (NBTE), IVTEC is poised to expand its programmatic offerings and will need to fill additional instructional and administrative positions immediately.

About the Role
  • Works in collaboration with the instructors and academic leadership to construct technological innovation in teaching and learning.
  • Reports directly to the Academic Dean.
  • Supports and promotes innovative academic activities constructed upon an appropriate and thoughtful connection between academic technologies, curricula, trends and innovation.
  • Conducts researches on instructional delivery methods that facilitate better understanding by the students which will inevitably lead to academic success at the college.
Key Performance Areas
  • Creates professional development opportunities for instructors to learn and share new uses of technology that enhance teaching and learning.
  • Oversees the research of new technologies related to teaching and learning and introduce these findings to the academic department
  • Provides leadership in the development of strategic approaches for the integration of technology into the academic department of the College.
  • Provides leadership and innovation for enhancing teaching and learning through the identification, evaluation, adoption, and integration of effective educational innovations into the curriculum.
  • Works collaboratively and effectively with the academic department to provide pedagogical and technical consulting to design, develop, and implement instructional content, courses and projects that enrich teaching and learning through the use of technology.
  • Provides administrative and technical support for all instructors to improve learning outcomes, facilitate technology-rich teaching, and advance curricular innovation.
  • Serves as a leader in the area of instructional technology for the college, researching the latest trends that can be applied to better learner outcomes.
  • Serves as a change agent for classroom technology integration.
  • Supervises Instructors and performs periodic evaluations.
  • Develops and maintains an online repository of resources to provide information on current best practices, innovations, and emerging trends for training (e.g. tutorials, interactive programs, websites).
  • Maintains awareness of best practices, emerging technologies and new potentials in educational technology that may be adopted as new and emerging instructional media, technologies, pedagogies and practices.
  • Analyses outcomes based on training, service, and support provided to instructors and departments and monitors progress to affirm success.
  • Maintains appropriate records and data to produce monthly performance reports, annual performance reports, and external reports.
  • Assists with the process for systematic review and evaluation of the educational technology and curricular innovation functional area per the model adopted by the College, including the development and monitoring of outcomes and plans of action for improvement based on the assessment of those outcomes and plans.
  • Collect and analyse data to support decision-making strategic planning, and assessment of student learning
  • Provide information about the performance and institutional effectiveness by collecting, analysing, interpreting, and reporting data about IVTEC and/or peer institutions that relate to students, faculty, staff, or other institutional practices.
  • Provide support for grants at the college, state, national and international levels.
  • Provide data and support for the accreditation process.
  • Provide data and support for program, course, and student assessment.
  • Respond to ad-hoc data requests from internal and external parties for the advancement of IVTEC's objectives.
  • Track, analyse, and report measures of student success, including enrolment, retention, and completion.
  • Complete state and national compliance reports as needed.
  • Respond to national statistical surveys, questionnaires, and other non-routine requests for data or information.
  • Monitor demographic, economic, educational, and labour market trends
  • Maintain a robust research portfolio to advance the College s mission.
  • Perform other functions as may be directed by the Rector.
Qualifications
  • Candidates must possess a minimum of Master's degree in Education, Instructional or Educational Technology or a related field with emphasis on teacher education and development, from an accredited college or university (A Doctorate degree is preferred).
  • Teaching qualification including QTLS or equivalent.In addition, candidates must have a minimum of seven years professional cognate experience, including an appropriate combination of teaching, supervisory, and other administrative experience in a higher institution of learning.
