News: Microsoft Nigeria Collaborates with TFP To Create 100,000 Jobs for Youths

Microsoft, disturbed by the increased rate of unemployment in Nigeria and Africa, The Future Project (TFP) in collaboration with Microsoft Nigeria, has unveiled Aiki Nigeria, an employability and entrepreneurship platform that seeks to provide jobs for young people and information needed to start businesses.

Addressing journalist in Lagos recently, one of the founders and directors of The Future Project, Adebola Williams explained that Aiki is a Hausa word for work.

According to him, Aiki Nigeria is a project that has been mapped out to empower young people to liberate themselves from shackles of unemployment. He added that The Future Project in the last 5 years has focused a greater part of its energy on human development, organising training for young people in business, writing, television, presenting and other skills.

The Citizenship Manager, Microsoft for Anglophone West Africa, Ugochukwu Nwosu mentioned some of the advantages of the new project, including career counseling for over 500,000 young people by 2014, job opportunity accessibility, access to mentors from different occupational fields, internship opportunities, entrepreneurship and project management courses.
