Job Title: Chief Executive Officer

Direct Reports: Chief Operating Officer, Chief Financial Officer, Chief Technology Officer

Job Purpose
  • The CEO will be responsible for providing strategic leadership for the company by working with the board of directors and the executive management team to establish long-range goals, strategies, plans and policies.
Responsibilities
  • Develop the company’s strategy & directions
  • Develop high quality business strategies and plans ensuring their alignment with short-term and long-term objectives
  • Develop the company’s culture and overall company vision.
  • Establish credibility throughout the organization and with the board as an effective developer of solutions to business challenges.
  • Oversee all operations and business activities to ensure they produce the desired results and are consistent with the overall strategy and mission
  • Provide leadership and management to ensure that the mission and core values of the company are put into practice
  • Drive the company to achieve and surpass sales, profitability, cash flow and business goals and objectives.
  • Spearheads the development, communication and implementation of effective growth strategies and processes
  • Collaborate with the executive management team to develop and implement plans for the operational infrastructure of systems, processes and personnel designed to accommodate the growth objectives of the company.
  • Make high-quality investment decisions to advance the business and increase profitability
  • Enforce adherence to legal guidelines and in-house policies to maintain the company’s business ethics
  • Build trust and relations with key partners and stakeholders and act as a point of contact for important shareholders
  • Analyse problematic situations and occurrences and provide solutions to ensure company survival and growth
  • Maintain a deep knowledge of the markets and industry and overall supervision of the finance team.
  • Motivate and leads a high-performance management team; attracts, recruits and retains required members of the executive team not currently in place; provides mentoring as a cornerstone to the management of career development program
  • Act as lead “client-care officer” through direct contact with every client and partner.
  • Assist, as required, in raising additional capital at appropriate valuations to enable the company to meet sales, growth and market share objectives.
  • Performs other decisions as necessary, such as reviewing reports, making presentations to investors and the board of directors, and examining how the company can cut expenses and increase revenue
  • Fosters a success-oriented, accountable environment within the company.
  • Represents the firm with clients, investors and business partners.
  • Work closely with the CFO (Chief Financial Officer) to prepare annual budgets, complete risk analysis on potential investments, and advise the Board of Directors with regard to investment risk and return
  • Work closely with Human Resources (HR) regarding hiring practices, payroll and benefit disbursement
  • Oversee quality control throughout the company, establishing goals for each department in partnership with division Managers.
Requirements
  • Academic Qualification(s):  Bachelor's degree in business or related field
  • Professional Qualification(s): Executive Management or Leadership programmes is a plus.
Preferred experience, skills, education:
  • Master’s degree in business or related field.
  • At least six years in a senior management role.
  • Excellent people skills, with an ability to partner with a dynamic leadership team.
  • Fintech or financial services experience preferred
  • Experience in scaling high growth tech companies.
  • The preferred individual must be flexible and able to multitask; should be able to work within an ambiguous, fast-moving environment, while also driving toward clarity and solutions; demonstrated resourcefulness in setting priorities and guiding investment in people and systems.
  • Minimum of Ten (10) years’ in various management/leadership roles in a variety of businesses and industries.
