Hamilton Lloyd and Associates - Our client is an Oil and Gas company that specializes in providing petroleum products both in Nigerian and international marketplaces. They offer comprehensive services that span petroleum exploration and production through distribution of refined products to retail service stations. Their operations extend throughout Nigeria as well as neighboring countries.

As part of their expansion process, they have decided to hire a Finance Manager.

Job Title: Finance Manager

Location:
Lagos

Key Accountabilities:
  • Efficient management of all financial systems and processes in the company.
  • Recruit, train and lead a highly professional finance team to manage day to day operations.
  • Advice and support the management team on all financial matters affecting the business
  • Manage transactions relating to the sale and purchase of vessels and support management in the negotiation of major contracts, acquisitions etc.
  • Advice and support the Management and Directors on M&A opportunities, investments and IPO structure
  • Responsible for the review and supervision of all aspects of Financial accounting and tax compliance for a portfolio of entities; ensure complete, accurate and timely financial numbers are produced.
  • Preparation of monthly & quarterly management and legal consolidation financial statement which include rolling forecast & variance analysis
  • Ensure compliance with Group’s financial policies, FRS, tax and relevant statutory requirements.
  • Oversee and assist in audit, tax and other compliance matters.
  • Liaison with external auditors, banks, tax advisors, Business Unit leaders, Group Finance team, overseas offices, etc in relation to audits, treasury and other financial information requirements and deliverables.
Knowledge & Experience
  • An experienced senior finance professional, in a position within a large shipping or maritime related organisation
  • Relevant Shipping experience with knowledge of ship finance
  • Dynamic and modern approach to managing finances and working as a senior member of the management team
  • Ability to manage an IPO
  • Team player with a consultative and pragmatic style, must be commercially astute
  • At least a Bachelor of Accountancy or ACCA or equivalent with at least 8 years of financial and accounting knowledge.
  • Knowledge and hands-on experience with BPC-SAP, CODA system and strong Microsoft Excel skills preferred.
  • Posses strong financial analysis skills and business acumen. Knowledge of Shipping Industry will be an added advantage, but not prerequisite.
  • Strong leadership qualities, team-oriented, hands-on, meticulous, good initiative and independent in resolving issues, highly dependable and committed to meet multiple timelines
  • Able to cope and work with changes and uncertainties, able to work under pressure to meet tight deadlines when required.
  • Manage, supervise, coach and develop Finance staff in the execution of their roles and functions and responsible for their development.
  • Undertake ad-hoc projects; system and process improvement, new system testing and implementation, group and entity restructuring or alignment process.
Candidates Requirements:

Education:
  • A degree in Accounting or Finance related field of study.
Experience:
  • Minimum of 8 years working experience in Finance or accounting will be an added advantage
