Job Title: Head, Shopper & Customer Marketing

Reporting To: Sales Director

Job Purpose/Scope
  • This job exists to develop innovative and effective activation techniques for consumer communication at the point of sale grounded by insights into shopper motivation/behaviour and opportunities/constraints in different shopper channels
Key Responsibilities

1) Enhance Trade Channel understanding for GSK in Nigeria
  • Demonstrate understanding of shopper and customer insights
  • Periodically gather and analyse retail audit data for decision making
  • Set up systems to track numeric and weighted distribution tracking for the Commercial team
  • Use shopper and customer insights to develop competitive advantage through compelling category and channel plans
2) Develop and implement winning strategies at Point of Purchase (PoP)
  • Interact with Brand teams to formulate PoP strategy in sync with the brand objectives
  • Develop and agree action standards for implementation of PoP in conjunction with the Brand teams and Territory Heads to ensure effective execution.
  • Liaise with Brand and Sales teams to develop suitable PoP material and robust implementation plan
  • Ensure leading visibility of GSK brands in the market as per brand plans
3) Meet brand objectives by developing Trade Promotion strategy and having proper action standards and measurement criteria
  • Liaise with the Brand and Sales teams to formulate Trade Promotion strategy which enhances brand prominence and helps in achieving sales & distribution objectives
  • Deliver periodic trade promotion plans for the brands as per the strategy
  • Liaise with Procurement team to source items from suppliers and ensure timely availability in the market
  • Set up a robust system to track and monitor the execution of consumer promotions to ensure success
4) Manage/Optimise Budgets for all Trade promotions activities.

Qualifications, Experience
  • A good first degree.
  • At least 8 years Field Sales experience in a FMCG company or related industry.
