Job Title: Internal Audit Officer

Job Function
- Objectively review an organization's business processes
- Detection, Prevention and control of fraud and theft of the organization's resources
- Ensure that the organization is complying with relevant laws and statutes
- Make recommendations on how to improve internal controls and governance processes
Job Description
- To prepare an audit plan which fulfils the responsibility of the department.
- Carry out an independent appraisal of the effectiveness of the policies, procedures and standards by which the organization’s financial, physical and information resources are managed.
- To coordinate coverage with the external auditors and ensure that each party is not only aware of the other's work but also sufficiently briefed on areas of concern.
- To report on the findings and recommendations after reviews and monitor management's response and implementation.
- Conduct audit testing of specified area identify reportable issues and communicate findings to Management.
- Determine scope of reviews and conduct assessments of assigned department or functional area within required timeline.
- To review and report on the accuracy, timeliness and relevance of the financial and other information that is provided for management.
Person Specification
Education Qualification:
- A degree with a merit grade in Accounting, Economics, Banking & Finance and Business Admin
- A further qualification, for example, an MBA would be highly beneficial.
Professional Qualifications:
- Member of Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria (ICAN) or ACCA.
- Chartered Institute of Auditors
Experience:
- A minimum of 2 to 4 years post qualification experience in a challenging environment.
