Value Seeds Limited was incorporated in 2009 and started business same year. We are in the business of research, multiplication and distribution of field crops; importation and distribution of assorted vegetable seeds. We are licensed by National Agricultural Seeds Council. We are a member of SEEDAN (Seeds Entrepreneurs Association of Nigeria) and one of the 8-member Ad hoc Committee set up to run the affairs of seed industry in Nigeria today.
We are recruiting to fill the position below:
Job Title: Accountant
Location: Kaduna
Responsibilities
Some of the responsibilities include:
- Preparing asset, liability, and capital account entries by compiling and analysing accounting information.
- Documenting financial transactions by entering account information.
- Recommending financial actions by analysing accounting options.
- Summarising current financial status by collecting information; preparing balance sheet, profit and loss statement, and other reports.
- Substantiating financial transactions by auditing documents.
- Maintaining accounting controls by preparing and recommending policies and procedures.
- Guiding accounting clerical staff by coordinating activities and answering questions.
- Reconciling financial discrepancies by collecting and analysing account information.
- Securing financial information by completing data base backups.
- Maintaining financial security by following internal controls.
- Preparing payments by verifying documentation, and requesting disbursements.
- Answering accounting procedure questions by researching and interpreting accounting policy and regulations.
- Complying with federal, state, and local financial legal requirements by studying existing and new legislation, enforcing adherence to requirements, and advising management on needed actions.
- Preparing special financial reports by collecting, analysing, and summarizing account information and trends.
- Maintaining customer confidence and protecting operations by keeping financial information confidential.
- Contributing to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
Qualification
The candidate:
- Must have a B.Sc. or HND in Accounting, Finance or related fields. Having a Masters Degree will be an added advantage
- Must be a Chartered Accountant
- Working experience must not be less than 5 years in an Accounting or cognate field
- Must be experienced in the use of SAGE50 or related accounting software
