Job Title: Materials Planner

Location: Lagos

Job Description
  • The Materials Planner is responsible for supporting the Production Planning process through ensuring materials availability to meet customer service objectives whilst minimizing working capital.
Main Responsibilities
  • Produce and analyse the daily MRP report and communicate potential stock issues to the Supply optimiser.
  • Identify accuracy of BOM data and communicate changes to the finance team. All BOM changes must be approved by Finance prior to updating the SAP system.
  • Responsible for changing the weekly delivery schedules when problems occur (low outputs, breakdowns, material availability and quality related issues).
  • Responsible for measuring and reporting of actual deliveries to plan.
  • Placing of orders for materials in SAP
  • Manage all supplier scheduled receipts and follow up on delivery status
  • Ensure materials plans are discussed and agreed with the Supply Chain Manager as well as the 3rd Party vendors and Plant Logistics.
  • Reduce Raw material and Finishing Supplies overstocks and present weekly improvements in the weekly supply planning meeting.
  • Support the business project teams with managing the phasing out of packaging to ensure minimum write-offs
  • The materials planner will ensure that the overall materials planning processes and disciplines are being adhered to as well as escalating to management any disruptions and deviations from the current processes.
Job Requirements
  • A degree with a minimum of 3 years experience in FMCG production planning environment. SAP experience will be an advantage, as well as production/supply planning
