The British Council is currently looking for a suitably qualified and experienced individual to join us in Lagos as Project Manager (Schools)

Job Title: Project Manager - Schools

Purpose of job:
To project manage the delivery of British Council’s activities with schools as part of a small team.  The role will include leading and managing projects that work with schools across Nigeria.  Some of these projects will have been devised for delivery throughout British Council’s global networks, and will require the role holder to deliver the Nigeria elements, others will specifically have been designed in Nigeria, with our partners.

Main Duties and Responsibilities

Project Delivery: To implement a portfolio of largescale and local projects with the support of internal project officers  or external delivery partners and to meet all project targets.

Monitoring and Evaluation: To ensure that  the evaluation strategy for each project is implemented in accordance with Corporate Scorecard standards and to report likely variations from target

Marketing and Communications: To support the Education Team in country as the dedicated point of contact with the regional schools, marcomms and evaluation teams for all projects managed and to ensure  the regular flow of relevant information between the operations team and the regional marcomms team and to support media relations activity for all projects managed

Performance Management: To contribute to the line management of the project officer(s) in order to contribute to a high performance team in accordance with Essential HR

Experience

  • Experience in project management
  • Experience of pro-actively managing relationships with internal and external partners

Desirable:

  • Project Management involving work with the Education sector
  • Experience of Monitoring and Evaluation

Qualifications

  • Degree level education

Desirable:

  • Project Management qualification
