Job Title: Regional Sales Manager (Diagnostics)

Job summary
  • Responsible for business development and coordination of the sales team within your region by developing sales strategies and plans, leads and prospects and sealing deals that will meet required sales target of medical diagnostics equipment such as clinical chemistry analyzers, immunology, point of care systems, cold chain storage and biomedical engineering and increase company customer base and strong presence in your region especially within the B2B segment.
Duties and Responsibilities
Sales Coordination and Reporting:
  • Coordinate proposal and bid development and submission in collaboration with the Head, Diagnostics SBU, for the region
  • Maintain and expand customer base; building and maintaining rapport with key customers and identifying new customer engagement opportunities
  • Monitor sales leads and opportunities generated from field sales officers within the region
  • Monitor sales volume channels, locations, customer segments and demography
  • Monitor prospect to sales conversion rates of the regional sales team and channels utilized for conversion
  • Oversee the regional sales drive programs that boost sales revenue for the company
  • Motivate and assists the regional sales officers and provides experienced approach to sales conversion
  • Communicate individual and group sales targets and strategies to sales teams
  • Evaluate individual and group sales performance
  • Prepare regional monthly, quarterly and annual sales report
Business Development:
  • Conduct first level presentations for regional based projects to key customers
  • Identify market and customers prospects across region of operation
  • Coordinate regional sales and product shows to establish networking relationships that could lead to key sales for the company
  • Establish good rapport with new and potential customers at regional level
  • Suggest new services/products and innovative sales techniques to increase customer satisfaction
  • Scout market risks factors and reports to senior management to prevent negative impacts on company top line
Regional Sales Strategy Development:
  • Receive feedback from sales officers to formulate processes, strategy and sales plan.
  • Create and implement regional sales strategy plans in line with the company's objectives
  • Using knowledge of the regional markets and competitors to develop the company's unique selling propositions
  • Collaborate with Head, Diagnostics SBU to develop annual regional sales budget plans based on peculiarity of region
  • Periodically review sales plans based on changing regional peculiarity
  • Coordinate and review regional sales budget expenses and performance
  • Forecasts regional monthly, quarterly and annual revenue and profits
Required Qualifications and Experience
  • Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Marketing or Medical Laboratory Science. Minimum of Second Class Upper
  • Minimum of 8-12 years experience in the medical, pharmaceutical or health equipment and supplies sector. At least 2 years in Management role
  • Professional certification or Master’s degree (MBA) will be an advantage.
  • Membership of ISMMN, ICSP or any relevant health body is an added advantage
  • Proven Sales record in the health diagnostics equipment industry
