Job Title: Marine Superintendent
Location: Lagos
Job Description
- Required to monitor the vessel movements daily.
- Supervise operations and monitor vessel condition and ship’s staff compliance with management policies, international, state or local Maritime regulations.
- Responsible for operational related issues and ensures all procedures are adhered to and comply with International safety management (ISM), classification society rules, and Maritime insurance.
- Candidates must have tangible shoreside technical, Designated Person Ashore (DPA)
- Candidates must have compliance related managerial experience.
- Marine Safety, Reliability and Efficiency (MSRE) vessel inspections and managing the process by ensuring implementation and monitoring of Clients’ ISM procedures.
- Perform vetting of offshore vessels nominated for drilling campaigns or terminal/export operations in line with OVID/OCIMF, company technical manuals and industry standards and assess crew certification in line with STCW/Flag State requirements and follow up with corrective action plans.
- Marine Contractors HES (MarCHES) engagements and audits
- Marine trainings; Compliance audits and professional assistance to offshore vessel Owners/Operators/Vessel Crew for ship - shore interface activities
- Review and provide guidance on marine casualties/incidents and subsequent investigation findings and recommendations
- Supporting offshore vessel technical evaluation during tendering in accordance to MSRE and marine standards
- Provide principal expertise in the field of marine operations to all departments
- OVIS champion (Offshore Vessel Information System) including operator/vessel data tracking not limited to vessel nominations, inspections, endorsements, incidents, detentions, age. Operating company performance, fleet, associated companies and OVMSA status. Operator Marine Risk Index (MRI)
- SeaBIRD champion (Shipping Business Intelligence & Reporting) enabling decision quality and business insight through Marine Risk Management
- Drive Chevron safety culture
Qualifications
- Minimum of a B.Sc Degree in Marine Engineering or related field
- Candidates must have tangible shoreside technical, Designated Person Ashore (DPA)
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in maritime or Oil and Gas Industry.
- Proven record of achievement within marine operations.
- Experience of multi-activity joint venture operations.
- Good awareness of industry/transportation trends, philosophies, best practice etc..
- Experience and knowledge of a wide range of offshore support vessels, Dynamic positioning systems, logistic vessels, Diving and Construction vessels, Semi-submersible and Jackup units.
