A Telecommunication Company with international operations is recruiting to fill the following position:
Job Title: Legal Counsel (Regulatory and Compliance)

Location: Lagos
Responsibilities
- Provide professional and credible interface between the Company and Regulatory Agencies/Government.
- Review and advise on Company’s position on proposed telecommunications legislation, guidelines and regulations.
- Handle all regulatory/compliance issues and obligations with Regulatory Agencies and Government.
- Coordinate and prepare all submissions/inputs by Company to Regulatory Agencies and Government.
- Drafting /Vetting/Reviewing of all Interconnect Agreements.
- Liaison with relevant Associations/bodies in the Telecommunications Industry such as Association of Licensed Telecommunications Operators of Nigeria, (ALTON), International Telecommunications Union (ITU); etc
- Ensure and monitor compliance with existing telecommunications laws, regulations and guidelines to avoid government and regulatory sanctions.
- Liaise with other Operators on all Telecommunications Industry related matters.
Requirements
- Bachelor of Law Degree (LLB) preferably Second Class Upper Division
- Call to Bar Certificate with a minimum of Second Class Division
- Masters Degree in Telecoms Law and membership of relevant professional bodies will be an added advantage.
- Minimum of 10 years post call to bar experience with at least 5 years cognate working experience in telecommunications with competencies in regulatory/compliance, contract drafting & review and legal documentation.
