Job Title: Plant Manager (H/F)

Job Description
  • Directly responsible to the Managing Director / Country Manager. The postholder will have managerial responsibilities for all Personnel within the Onne Plant but the Finance Department reporting directly to the MD / CM.
  • Will have regular contact and communications with other levels of management and members from other Vallourec Nigeria business wide departmental teams. Will also have contact with other Vallourec Group entities and with external customers and suppliers.
  • To ensure the overall efficiency and effectiveness of the Onne Plant in order to satisfy customer requirements and achieve the profits agreed during the budget process.
  • To manage and co-ordinate an effective team approach to handling customer requirements and ensuring delivery of the necessary responses in a timely manner.
  • To ensure that work is produced and delivered through processes which are capable, clearly specified and consistently controlled in conjunction with the Company’s Quality Procedures.
  • To conduct regular reviews of the effectiveness of the processes and implement actions regarding key areas for growth and improvement of services.
  • To manage the Plant and Facilities Maintenance system in order that Company assets are kept secure, well maintained and in compliance with the applicable standards/regulations.
  • To lead and participate in strategy reviews, internal and external audits, budgeting and inventory management processes.
  • To provide regular and comprehensive reports to the Board regarding the status of the Company’s key performance indicators with appropriate benchmarks drawn from external sources.
  • To oversee the preparation of the annual budget for the Company, ensuring plans and forecasts are submitted on time.
Key Account Management / Business Development:
  • To formulate and implement development plans designed to ensure effective penetration of both home and overseas markets.
  • To lead the Company forward achieving sustainable growth which will ensure positive contribution to the Group.
  • To develop and implement a marketing plan and strategy which builds upon the Company’s reputation for excellence and service.
  • To continually develop and maintain good customer relationships in order to maximise and increase the Division’s sales and services capability.
  • To be fully aware of the Company’s contractual obligations to all customers and ensure services are provided in line with these
  • To promote full compliance of products within sound engineering practice and applicable legislation.
  • To promote a strong “team” environment and a culture of continuous improvement throughout the Company.
  • To actively promote communication and information sharing.
  • To be responsible for the overall day to day management of the personnel within the sphere of control including performance reviews, objective setting, training and development needs, discipline and grievance in line with procedures.
  • To adhere to the procedures as laid down by the Human Resources Management System and to take an active part in the Performance Management Process.
  • To take an active part and drive the Competence and Training Programmes.
  • To ensure adequate cover is available for unplanned absences.
  • To put forward suggestions for improvements and carry through agreed actions.
  • To conduct /oversee Team Briefings/Tool box Talks.
HSEQ (Health, Safety, Environmental and Quality):
  • To ensure that all work is produced and delivered through processes which are capable, clearly specified and consistently controlled in conjunction with the Company’s Procedures and customer specifications.
  • To promote good working practices and compliance with the Company’s Safety Management System and Quality Management System.
  • To monitor the Key Performance Indicators set and agreed for the Company and implement corrective actions if required
Requirements
  • 5 years managerial experience in a workshop/service facility environment.
  • Senior level management experience in an operational role with P&L responsibility.
  • Experience of business process development in a related industry.
  • Experience of managing multi discipline teams.
  • Knowledge of materials and processes used within oil & gas operations.
  • Ability to communicate effectively at all levels and across all disciplines, both verbally and in writing
  • Strong focus and ability in relation to prioritisation of tasks and allocation of resources.
  • Excellent organisational ability.
  • Proven ability to motivate and inspire individuals to achieve their full potential.
  • Proven leadership and management ability.
  • Ability to network effectively within various industry sectors.
  • Ability to keep up to date and informed on key industry tends and developments.
