Responsibilities
- To guide the operational units Freight Forwarding (Air, Sea, Projects and Logistics) and Shipping in all operational disciplines and ensures (within the functional scope) operational excellence, high productivity and customer satisfaction.
- Management of Port Harcourt staff under his responsibility
- Define, optimize and implement country standard operational processes in cooperation with General Manager
- Monitor performance on operational excellence and initiate corrective measures
- Assure operational excellence within his area of responsibility
- Assure appropriate staffing and training in conjunction with HR
- Assure the correct and full use of operation enabling applications
- Share information using sales-support tools.
- Collect, fosters and implements specific industry know how and diagnose client’s needs
- Assures and provides timely responses to customer generated RFI, RFQ, RFP and tender processes where S&M will take the lead and Ops will provide procedures and buying templates..
- Develops, builds rapport and nurtures long term partnerships with clients, translating our capabilities to customer value
- Organizes and participates in regular reviews with clients to ensure customer satisfaction and sustainable business relationship.
- Establishes guidelines and standards and conduct implementation processes, customer SOP’s, reporting frequency, formats and design KPI’s for new accounts in collaboration with operations.
- Ensures that pricing and services offered to all relevant accounts are in line with “best in class” available.
- Regular reporting, as agreed, to management

- Disciplinary responsibility over Port Harcourt Branch organization within his responsibility.in conjunction with HR
- Decide and enforce operational corrective measures to ensure operational excellence
- Margin and selling rates in line with sales strategy
Requirements
- Functional know-how in air / sea / logistics / SCM / ships agency .
- Operational know-how (Customer Service, Document Processing, Customs Clearance, shipping industry)
- Understanding of company (strategy and products)
- Develop market knowledge (customers, competitors, suppliers, overall environment)
- Strong administrative skills
- Develop and maintain SOP’s
- People Management and Leadership (/Training & Development/Coaching/Performance Management)
- Organizational skills (prioritize, plan, assign and control)
