Context / Scope
  • Responsible for the excellent execution/implementation of category strategies that clearly deliver our Procurement Functional Value agenda of Assure, Protect and Create for all areas of Marketing & Indirect spend across all sites.
  • Provide procurement support to deliver the most effective and efficient use of company’s funds in the acquisition of services to deliver the key procurement imperatives of Quality, Cost, and Risk management.
  • Responsible for Supplier development, Contract management, and Supplier Data maintenance on SAP
  • Conduct regular Supplier performance management and implement action plans to close gaps
  • Data gathering and analysis to support the preparation of professional commodity bid-templates and follow-up evaluation of prospective supplier’s tenders against service, quality and cost parameters.
  • Support the Category Manager to ensure support, buy-in to Supplier development initiatives and progress same.
  • Clearly communicate ideas and insights to stakeholders and proactively manage issues.
  • Supporting the Function’s control and risk agenda, - including CARM, IFRS, SFRM
Top Accountabilities
  • Lead Performance Management conversations in Demand, media, PR, Experiential, Consumer planning and research, POS and sponsorship categories.
  • Lead pitches and award of businesses to various agencies within the category
  • Lead Implementation of key projects with above market teams
  • Lead the Function’s control and risk agenda in Demand
  • Work with the Global Procurement teams to develop benchmarking, cost modeling and best practices for the Nigerian market.
  • Manage the in-market agency roster on a regular basis involving key stakeholders.
  • Manage supplier and stakeholder relationship to deliver value.
Qualifications and Experience
  • Relevant Degree and demonstrable ability to learn and develop.
  • Minimum of 5 years commercial experience, gained in a "blue chip" organization
  • Previous Agency / Marketing experience is an advantage
  • Understanding of marketing needs and how to drive change
  • Inquisitive with the ability to crystallize thinking and make sound recommendations
  • Analytical and numerical skills
  • Skilled communicator with a high level of personal impact
  • Demonstration of personal accountability for great performance and brilliant execution
  • Commercial acumen and an understanding of the business
  • Ability to review established practice to identify opportunities and stimulate thinking
  • Embody the highest standards of compliance and ethics.
