Shell Companies in Nigeria Recruitment Fraud Alert
It has come to the attention of
Shell Companies in Nigeria (“Shell”) that certain unauthorised individuals and organisations claiming to work for, or be affiliated with Shell are purportedly seeking to recruit staff on its behalf
Individuals are being falsely notified that their qualifications have been found suitable to qualify them for employment with Shell (local and expatriate staff), and are told to remit sums of money to facilitate the processing of their application/work permits/insurance policies, etc.
We wish to notify the general public that Shell does not request or require monetary payments from applicants at any stage of the recruitment process. Individuals who are interested in opportunities within the Shell Group will find available positions listed on the company website:
www.shell.com/careers
All successful applicants who receive an offer of employment from Shell would hove been required to go through a formal and transparent recruitment process.
Members of the public are hereby notified that any communication offering interviews or immediate employment and requesting payment at any point is fraudulent
Anyone who receives these false solicitations is strongly advised to either disregard them in their own best interest; or report to the nearest law enforcement agency
Shell hereby states that it is not liable in any manner whatsoever for any situation arising from any engagement with these unauthorised persons and organisations.
The public is hereby warned that any individual caught in this illegal act of soliciting or claiming to recruit on behalf of Shell shall be prosecuted to the full extent of the law
