A Reputable Property Development Company with its head office in Abuja seeks to strengthen its team of professionals with specialized skills in the vacant position:

Job Position: Legal Officer

Grade Level: Officer II
Department: Company Secretariat
Direct Report: Company Secretary
Location: Abuja 

Job Summary 
She/he will assist the Corporate Secretary in the affairs of the company secretariat.

Key Responsibilities
  • Ensure the compliance with all statutory requirements
  • Provide secretarial services to the Board of Directors
  • Provide secretarial services to the Executive Management Committee of the Board
  • Provide Legal Advisory Services to the Board of Directors of
  • Maintain and keep in safe custody alt statutory books and Company Seal
  • Conduct research and provide legal opinion on issues relating to the business
  • Draft all agreements and legal documents for transactions involving
  • Negotiate legal issues and finalise all agreements involving the company
  • Analyse litigations involving the organisation and prepare legal opinions for the Managing
  • Director/CEO and the Board
  • Administer legal documentation of all sales transactions carried out by the company
  • Review and advise management on all legal documents forwarded to the company by external parties
  • Keep in safe custody all contracts and legal documents of the company.
Technical Skills
  • Excellent understanding of real estate business in Nigeria
  • Excellent knowledge of regulatory requirement of the company
  • Good knowledge of legal drafting
  • Excellent report writing skills
  • Sound knowledge of the Nigerian financial services industry
  • Excellent understanding of real estate business in Nigeria
Soft Skills
  • Excellent relationship management skills especially with third parties
  • Good leadership, supervisory and people management skills
  • Good analytical and problem solving skills
  • Excellent presentation and facilitation skills
  • Excellent communication (written and oral), interpersonal and negotiation skills
Experience
  • Minimum years of experience: 2-3years
