Job Title: Website Graphics Designer

Location: Lagos

Job Description:
The successful candidate is expected to:

Responsibilities:
  • Develop site content and graphics, images, icons, banners, animations, etc. with the intent of attracting traffic to the site.
  • Plan and execute creative designs on the website.
  • Upgrades site by updating content and graphics
  • Maintains site appearance by developing and enforcing content and display standards; editing submissions.
  • Improve the usability and the layout of the website, creating wireframes, mock-ups and designs
  • Management of the brand identity and making sure all print and web materials are consistent with this.
  • Creating branded items including business cards, letterheads, gadgets and corporate presentations
  • Designing promotional web and print material including web banners, newsletters, magazines and Flyers.
  • Ensuring all products are advertised as effectively as possible by manipulating existing artwork

Qualification Requirements:
  • Fluent English writing and speaking
  • Must possess exceptional computer skills. Macintosh operating platform a must. PC knowledge a plus.
  • Thorough knowledge of the following software applications is required: Quark X-press, Adobe Illustrator, In Design, scanning software, Adobe Photoshop, and any widely utilized word processing application.
  • Demonstrated ability to think creatively and provide marketable solutions in conceiving, developing, and producing artworks.
  • Mastered composition techniques (multiple elements and interactive pieces) in producing polished final pieces (i.e., attention to detail, good knife).
  • Comprehensive computer photo-retouching and image development skills.
Demonstrated complete understanding of:
  • Color theory and color relationships.
  • Typographic terms that identify type forms and the specifications required to refer to typographic settings (i.e., points, leading, picas, kerning, tracking, cap-height, x-height etc.).
  • Perspective and space relationships.
  • Page composition and grid structures.
  • Print production process, knowledge of production techniques, and correct disking procedures.
  • Photography and the photographic process.
  • Good understanding of CSS and HTML processes and its structural limitations is beneficial.
  • Excellent web / publications design skills
  • An understanding of 'off the page selling'
