A Project with funding from multilateral institutions, that is supporting capacity building in Nigeria, in the fields of Procurement, Environmental and Social standards require the services of qualified candidates to show an interest in providing Service(s) for an ongoing project.

The Independent National Facilitation Unit (INFU) of the Project now invites Individual Consultants (“Consultant”) for the position below:

Job Title: Senior Education Specialist (Social Standards)

Location: Nigeria
Duration: The approximate effort level for each of the assignments is 120 man-days in six calendar months

Details
The successful Consultant will be required to:

  • Under the supervision of the Lead Education and Programme Specialist and in coordination with the PIU team, supervise all SS academic, educational and Track design and roll-out across six Centres of Excellence;
  • Lead on SS curriculum design and development for each of the Tracks;
  • Monitor SS course, diploma and degree roll-out and implement enhancements in a periodic manner;
  • Ensure that SS Faculty is equipped and ready to deliver the courses and continuously build their capacities;
  • Continuously validate that the SS curriculum and courses are fit-for-purpose and are delivering on the intended results;
  • Supervise SS research activities and partnering activities of delivery institution in each of the geo-political zones in the country (with other universities, research centres, industry, etc.);

  • Supervise SS internship programmes to maximise their impact;
  • Provide general academic advice and guidance;
  • Manage DLI measurement and reporting with respect to SS tracks
  • Closely coordinate with delivery institutions in each of the geo-political zones in the country.

Requirements
The short-listing criteria are:

  • Graduate (Master's) degree in Education, Business, Management, Sociology, Social Standards or similar fields; PhD in a relevant domain is an advantage;
  • Good command of the English Language;
  • Excellent analytical, problem solving, interpersonal, coaching/mentoring, and computer skills;
  • Excellent understanding of the higher education systems of Nigeria;
  • At least 15 years of general professional experience;
  • At least 10 years of specific experience in designing and managing higher education programmes of direct relevance to SS;
  • At least 5 years of experience in supervising higher education programmes of direct relevance to SS;
  • At least 5 years of experience in SS capacity building and research.
