A leading Engineering and Consulting firm is currently seeking to employ suitably qualified candidates to fill the vacant position below:

Job Title: Process Safety Engineer

Location: Lagos

Job Responsibilities

  • Define concepts and critical deliverables, lead, plan, manage, control, review and deliver engineering deliverables of Process Safety for the assigned project efficiently according to the specified technical requirements, timelines and budget, and to manage project resources and independently deal with and resolve all issues of the project, and provide guidance to the assigned team
  • Technical authoring of Company Technical Safety (i.e., Process Safety, Asset Integrity) documentation;
  • To ensure the timely identification of HSE hazards, evaluation of risks for all activities and development of effective tools to manage and reduce these risks to ALARP
  • To participate in HEMP studies/reviews i.e., HAZOP, HAZID HAZEER, ENVID, SIL, QRA and participate in PFD and P&ID reviews for complex systems;
  • To ensure that HSE requirements are being considered during management of change processes and are implemented for all phases of the project and operations;
  • To provide input to leading and lagging process safety performance measures;
  • To support the development & implementation of a Process Safety Learning & Development program through updating the lessons learned register & preparation of safety moments;
  • To keep updated about industry best practices pertaining to Process Safety & Asset Integrity;
  • Participating in Technical Safety Audits & HSECES Integrity Assurance Activities;
  • Providing Process Safety Input to Annual HSE Management Reviews;

Qualification / Experience / Skills

  • Bachelor / Master's Degree in Mechanical or Chemical Engineering or related Engineering field
  • Minimum 15 years’ experience in Oil and Gas industry with specific stint in Asset Integrity will be an absolute advantage or HSE Consultancy providing services to Oil/Gas industry
  • Strong background in QRA, HAZID, HAZOP, HSECES and Bow-Tie Development preferred
  • Ability or previous track record of facilitating Training programmes in Process Safety will be a critical advantage
