Bresson AS Nigeria, a leading indigenous Independent Power Generating Company seeks experienced candidates to fill the following position in the organization.
Job Title: Legal Counsel
Location: Lagos
Key Responsibilities
- Provide policies, guidance and procedures to ensure operational and regulatory compliance.
- Facilitate legal awareness and compliance across the company operation including HR, EHS, etc.,
- Represent the company in court.
- Provide legal assistance to the company by drafting, negotiating and reviewing various types of commercial contracts and documents.
- Provide support and guidance with the creation of external communications related to legal matters.
- Close cooperation with business managers with the purpose of early identification of legal risks and to facilitate/align best practices.
- Providing legal input into large commercial transactions, including participation in major bids, acquisitions, JVs, and agreements involving multiple regions and partners.
- Make a broader contribution at senior executive level and advise on strategic commercial and legal issues.
Qualifications and Requirements
- Qualified lawyer with 6-10 Years of commercial practice and extensive knowledge of federal and state corporate law.
- Oil & gas, power and infrastructure sector practice is highly desirable.
- Large-scale project contracts experience with strong business acumen.
- Highly professional with strong interpersonal skill.
