Job Title: Head of Accounts

Location: Ikeja, Lagos

Job Description

• We need an experienced Accountant possessing the abilities to supervise, track and evaluate day-to-day Accounting activities to head the Accounts Department in the Organization.
• He or She will be responsible for establishing financial status by developing and implementing systems for collecting, analyzing, verifying and reporting information.

Responsibilities

• Manages and oversees the daily operations of the accounting department including:month and end-year process accounts payable / receivable, cash receipts, general ledger, payroll and utilities, treasury, budgeting, cash forecasting, revenue and expenditure variance analysis, capital assets reconciliations, trust account statement reconciliations,check runs, fixed asset activity, debt activity.
• Monitors and analyze accounting data and produce financial reports or statements
• Establish and enforce proper accounting methods, policies and principles
• Coordinates and completes annual audits
• Provide recommendations with respect to accounting-related affairs.
• Improve systems and procedures and initiate corrective accounting procedures.
• Assign projects and direct Accounts staff to ensure compliance and accuracy
• Meet financial accounting objectives
• Establish and maintain fiscal files and records to document transactions.

Qualifications

• B.Sc Accounting, Banking and Finance and other related Discipline.
• Must be chartered with 5 - 8 years Post call experience.
• Must possess other requisite certifications with necessary professional bodies.

Requirements:

• Proven work experience as a Chartered Accountant, Head of Accounts or Accounting Manager and other similar experiences.
• Advanced computer skills on MS Office, accounting software and databases
• Proven knowledge of bookkeeping and accounting principles, Auditing practices, standards, laws and regulations
• High attention to detail and accuracy
• Ability to direct and supervise.

Remuneration
Negotiable based on level experience.
