The Center for Clinical Care and Clinical Research - An indigenous, non-profit organization registered in Nigeria in 2010 to promote best practices in health care delivery, medical training and research using locally adapted models of health systems strengthening. CCCRN implements projects through a team of experienced health and allied professionals that include clinicians, laboratorians, community workers and health information specialists. CCCRN has established footprints in 14 states of Nigeria with offices in Abuja and Benue, where it has implemented quality public health initiatives and contributed to the global knowledge of effective health solutions in Nigeria.

CCCRN is the recipient of the Integrated Child Health and Social Service Award (ICHSSA) to increase access to high-quality comprehensive services and strengthen the capacity of families and communities living in target communities to care for and protect the children in their care. The project is implemented in 31 Local Government Areas of Akwa Ibom State and in 7 LGAs of Cross River State.

Job Title: Collaborating, Learning and Adapting Advisor

Location: Uyo, Akwa Ibom

Project Summary

  • The USAID/Nigeria funded Integrated Child Health and Social Service Award (ICHSSA) is to ensure that Orphans and Vulnerable Children (OVC) are cared for, and protected by their households, communities, and local and state government to reduce their vulnerability to HIV. CCCRN urgently require the service of skilled, competent, and seasoned specialist in the field of Orphans and Vulnerable Children (OVC) program who understands the recent development in PEPFAR programming for Children and households susceptible to HIV.

Job Description

  • Work with ICHSSA project staff on professional development (i.e., presentations, public speaking, technical team management, and team building) and its local implementing partners to create a learning and knowledge management agenda
  • Facilitate use of collaboration, adaptation, and learning tools
  • Coordinate knowledge capturing, sharing, and strategic learning to speed performance-based adaptations and bring new innovations to the project programmatic work
  • Provide support to CCCRN ICHSSA 1 project in developing a learning plan to create, capture, organize, translate, share, and apply knowledge to improve ICHSSA 1 programs
  • Facilitate organization and delivery of learning events to share with USAID lessons learned and best practices
  • Support identification of ICHSSA 1 good and best practices in an accessible format for other organizations and institutions
  • Facilitate capacity building assessments of local implementing partners and stakeholders, and develop capacity development plans

Minimum Qualification and Experience

  • Master’s degree or higher in a relevant discipline is preferred; At least three years of experience with communications and/or knowledge management in the international development sector;
  • Familiarity with USAID’s objectives, approaches and operations, particularly as they relate to CLA
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively interact with local professionals, international donor organizations, civil society and private sector, host country government counterparts, and other implementing partners;
  • Experience designing and delivering learning events, working in teams and facilitating meetings
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively interact with local professionals and local implementing partners in Nigeria;
  • Strong proficiency in written and spoken English. Excellent communication skills and demonstrated evidence of effective team leadership
