The Federal Polytechnic, Ado-Ekiti was established in accordance with Decree 33 of 1979 based on the Federal Polytechnics Act (Cap. i39) as amended by the Federal Polytechnic (Amendment) Decree No.5. of 1993.
The Polytechnic, located at Kilometre 8, Ado-Ikaree Road was established for the training of middle and high-level technical manpower for the economy of the nation. The Institution caters for a large student population enrolled in full and part-time programmes at the National Diploma and Higher National Diploma levels. The National Board for Technical Education (NBTE) accredits all academic programmes the Institution runs.

- Bachelor's Degree in relevant fields with NYSC discharge certificate,
- HND in relevant fields with NYSC discharge certificate, are qualified to apply.
- Also, acquisition of cognate experience in relevant fields will be of advantage
