We are recruiting to fill the position of:

Job Title: Business Development Specialist

Location: Lagos
Reports to: Business Development Manager

Responsibilities:
  • To ensure that strategies are developed to enable FEH Projects Ltd to achieve its objectives and continuously improve its performance in the context of the overall Corporate aim
  • To support the Business Development Manager to ensure that effective Policies, Strategies and Sales Plans are developed. Other aspects of the role include: Research and ad hoc Special Projects as directed, as well as Account Management
  • To participate and where appropriate lead in the development, implementation and evaluation of strategic business plans for the Company
  • To progress and complete identified tasks and projects as required in the sales planning process
  • To ensure that clients are satisfactorily serviced
  • To identify new prospects and create working relationships
  • To liaise with Business Development Manager to ensure high standards of best practice and continuous improvement are in place to meet the aims of the Organization.
  • To ensure that appropriate performance information is available to report to Senior Management Team on performance against business objectives and financial targets.
  • To research and advice on strategic partnerships for the firm’s benefit.
  • To maintain and develop close support and co-operation between existing clients and the firm in product sales and services.
  • To write proposals to prospective clients following the outcome of projects research.
  • Develop and maintain sales strategy and business planning.
  • To work with the Business Development Manager to establish that service improvements have been implemented and undertake work to measure and record the results.
  • Liaise as required with Business Development Manager to provide information or advice on corporate best values/performance improvement processes.
  • Carry out and report on benchmarking exercises with competitors as appropriate as directed by Business Development Manager comparing service delivery, performance and cost.
  • Any other duties proportionate with the scope and nature of the post.
Person Specifications:
  • Experience: At least 3 years’ experience working at a corporate Business Development/Sales and Marketing Position.
  • Experience managing sales with FMCG.
  • Be able to demonstrate a sound knowledge of accepted good practice in the sales industry within the public sector.
Qualification:
  • Hold a first degree in any of the Physical and Life sciences.
  • A Sales/ Marketing training would be an added advantage
Practical Skills:
  • Excellent Communication Skills both verbal and written.
  • Highly IT savvy
  • Excellent negotiation skills
  • Interpersonal skills to build and maintain relationships with other prospective clients at all levels
  • Methodical, systematic approach with a good eye for detail
  • Ability to deliver by planning work and setting targets for the achievement of objectives
  • Broad understanding of current public sector policies
