SURE-P - The Federal Government has approved an upward review of the monthly stipend of interns of the Graduate Internship Scheme (GIS) to N30,000, up from N25,000.
GIS is a social safety net component of Subsidy Reinvestment and Empowerment Programme (SURE-P), established to provide one year mentorship to unemployed graduates across the country and is implemented in the Federal Ministry of Finance.
The increase is a reflection of government's quest for improved effectiveness of the scheme especially in being responsive to the opinions of partners and stakeholders who requested for it. With this increase, it is expected that firms and organizations will not only register for the scheme but join the sensitization campaign to attract more firms Partner firms are therefore expected to see this partnership as an opportunity to contribute to building human capacity and addressing youth unemployment toward the attainment of our national development vision.

Among major organizations partnering with the scheme are Legal Aid Council, Dangote Group, UBA Plc, Keystone Bank, Afrihub Computers, Unilever Plc, Chams Plc, Dana Group as well as hundreds of medium level enterprises.
