Loesche Nigeria’s scope of work will include the following activities:
  • Preparation and supervision of technical repairs, modifications and upgrades
  • Audit of cement plants and grinding terminals
  • Operations of grinding terminals and complete cement plants
  • Preventive maintenance and planning
  • Management of required spare parts
  • Recruitment, management and training of employees
  • Management of operational stability and improvement-process, product quality, performance
  • Ensuring health & safety and environmental regulations

Therefore, LNG is looking to fill following vacancy in Nigeria:

Job Title: Quality Control Manager (m/f)

Role & Responsibility:
  • Lead and guide all quality related aspects at the plant site by implementing quality management systems, quality plans and controls to achieve plant’s objectives
  • Ensure the quality of products and their compliance with the standardized and contractual requirements
  • In charge of the achievement of key performance indicators in the field of product quality and quality systems related agreed targets for the overall plants’ performance
  • Define and set quality targets for the production department
  • Recommend and implement quality control methodologies in cooperation with the production department
  • Coordinate and carry out product quality tests and recommend measures for its improvement
  • Provide the necessary guidance to laboratory staff and ensure the continuous improvement of its competency
  • Identify specific developmental needs and gaps of the assigned staff
  • Train and develop the assigned staff to provide specific knowledge
  • Control and guide the daily work and ensure the safety regarding the laboratory activities
  • Implement standardized reporting functions, work instructions for optimising the process chains
  • Carry out annual performance reviews of employees
  • Ensure a well-organised communication of decisions and current developments of technical information and those relating to the quality between various actors
  • Responsible for the implementation and updating of the quality management system for the continuous improvement of all quality related processes
  • Ensure the use of necessary data analysis in order to improve the established quality system
  • Secure the retention of the certification of marketed products and quality systems
  • Continuous reporting to the Plant Manager
  • Comply with all relevant company and statutory environmental, health and safety procedures and guidelines
Requirements:
  • University degree in chemical engineering or chemistry
  • Several years’ experience in the cement industry as Quality Control Manager
  • Profound experience in leading and guiding laboratory staff
  • Sound knowledge of quality management systems, cement chemistry and cement microscopy
  • Profound knowledge of product analysis methods
  • Very good understanding of safety and environmental regulations
  • Strategic, organisation and planning skills
  • Sound communication skills and outstanding ability to work in a team Very good MS-Office and SAP knowledge
  • Business-fluent spoken and written English
  • Further languages skills would be an advantage
  • Willingness to travel to various locations worldwide for an extended period of time
